SUPPORTING SNOW LEOPARDS

This winter we’re focusing on raising much needed funds to support snow leopards both in-situ and ex-situ, through our very own conservation charity.

Known throughout the world for its beautiful fur and elusive behaviour, the endangered snow leopard (Panthera uncia) is found in the rugged mountains of Central Asia. Known as "ghosts of the mountains" they are perfectly adapted to the cold, barren landscape of their high-altitude home, but human threats have created an uncertain future for the cats. Despite a range of over 2 million km², there are only between 4,000 and 6,500 snow leopards left in the wild.
This winter when you make a donation of £150 or more you’ll get to hand feed your chosen snow leopard (age 18+ only), Nefeli our female or Centurio our male, you’ll also get a certificate of participation and annual sponsorship too. In addition you can bring along a friend to watch you get as close as a whisker to these magnificent animals.*

Meet the team and find out much more about how the zoo operates, how zoos work closely together not only across the country, but across the world.

Hear all about the in-situ and ex-situ conservation projects we support, because we all strongly believe these animals should stay where they so rightly belong, in the wild!

So, bag a bargain today, safe in the knowledge you’re helping to safeguard the future survival of these incredible cats.

We’re all so passionate here about big cat conservation and for those we’ve inspired enough to wish to continue to support the work we do, we’ll also give you a voucher for a 25% discount on selected other big cat experiences.

*Snow leopard feeds must take place by 31st March 2020 and participants must be aged 18+
